K1 De Ultimate’s Daughter Appointed Senior Special Assistant on Tourism by Lagos State Governor

Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has appointed Basirat Damilola Marshall, the daughter of the famous Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, also known as KWAM1, to serve as his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism.

This announcement came to light through a widely circulated video where KWAM1 expressed his gratitude to Governor Sanwo-Olu during a performance at Oba Sikirullah Apena’s coronation and birthday reception. KWAM1 mentioned that his daughter, Damilola, had asked him to publicly thank the governor for the significant appointment.


The news quickly generated a stream of congratulatory messages on social media, with Damilola’s Instagram page being inundated with well-wishers celebrating this milestone in her career.

Olanrewaju-Smart Wasiu, among the well-wishers, took to social media to congratulate Damilola on her appointment, emphasizing that it’s a well-deserved recognition for her dedication and contributions to their party.

Balogun Basia also extended his congratulations, expressing optimism for a bright future for Damilola and her siblings.

Prior to her new position, Damilola served as a principal partner at the law firm Damilola Ayinde Marshal and Co. Her legal background and active community engagement were cited as significant factors in her appointment.

Efforts to obtain official confirmation from Gboyega Akosile, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, were ongoing at the time of reporting, with messages sent to his WhatsApp awaiting a response.
