How I begged Rema to persuade Don Jazzy to sign me – Khaid

Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, a promising musician known by his stage name Khaid, has recounted his plea to Rema, a performer under Mavin Records, for assistance in securing a contract with the company. Khaid, the artist behind the hit song “Anabella,” revealed that he shared his freestyle rap video with Rema in hopes that she would present it to music industry producer Don Jazzy. During an episode of the Zero Conditions podcast, Khaid, who is presently signed with Neville Records under Sydney Talker, reflected on his early struggles as a musician. He stated that he was willing to offer Rema his first N1 million to aid in securing his record deal with Mavin, but his messages went unanswered.

He said; “Rema if you are seeing this, please take heart. I actually went to Rema’s [Instagram] DM one day with my old account and sent my freestyle video to him. I said, ‘Bro, I know that you trap like me. Please, help me show this video to Don Jazzy. Let him sign me so that we will be in the same record label.’

“He didn’t see the message. At that time, I was texting him with all emotions in me, bro. I was texting him with prayers. I was willing to give him my first 1 million.
