According to media personality and actress Toke Makinwa, she would have stayed married if she and her spouse Ayida Maje had a child.

On the most recent episode of her podcast, TokeMoments, the actress did admit that she would have had to make sacrifices if she had a child with the marriage.
She said that the majority of women stay in unhappy marriages because of their children, and she wasn’t passing judgment on them because she might have done the same thing.
According to her:
Many women continue to live in unhappy relationships because of their children. Women have been saying things like, “The marriage is over but I am only staying because of my kids,”
If I had given birth while I was still married, I might have been one of those ladies. because I also had the trauma of losing both of my parents when I was eight. I was adopted, after all. I am grateful for my wonderful life, but there have been occasions when I have wondered what my life may have been like if that hadn’t happened.
So, in order to ensure that my kids got both their parents, I may have had to make a compromise. One of these women might have been me. I am not even passing judgment on anyone at this time.
