Renowned comedian Okey Bakassi recently disclosed a deeply concerning issue that afflicts numerous entertainers in Nigeria.
During a candid and enlightening interview on Channels TV, Bakassi candidly discussed the distressing encounters he faced both within Nigeria and abroad. He divulged that he had been approached by fraudsters and drug traffickers who extended invitations for him to partake in their illicit activities.
These invitations, he revealed, became increasingly frequent after he relocated to Lagos State in Nigeria.
The comedian shed light on the fact that individuals within the entertainment industry are often perceived as vulnerable targets for such propositions. He exposed the susceptibilities that many entertainers encounter in their pursuit of fame and success. While acknowledging the financial rewards associated with drug trafficking, Bakassi disclosed that he had declined these offers, opting instead to maintain a modest lifestyle.
Reflecting on his early days in Lagos, Bakassi reminisced about the various temptations he encountered. He further explained that these invitations to join the drug trade were not limited to Nigeria alone, but were also extended to him while he was abroad. In certain instances, drug dealers would directly approach entertainers, enticing them with the promise of quick wealth.
However, Bakassi revealed that he did not succumb to these temptations, recognizing the perils and repercussions of embarking on such a path. He expressed his desire to lead a life that allows him to sleep peacefully at night, unburdened by the fear of law enforcement agencies
