Burna boy sees himself as the Jesus of Afro beat- Brymo

Nigerian singer Brymo has criticized Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning artist, as being unoriginal, cheap, and fake.

In an interview with TVC News, he made this claim and charged the so-called African Giant with stealing.
Every song that Burna Boy releases, in Brymo’s opinion, is a sample of music by another artist, and the majority of his slogans are also stolen.

The ‘Ara’ singer made light of Burna Boy’s self-styled status as the “Jesus of Afrobeat” and expressed his confusion over how the ‘Last Last’ hitmaker won a Grammy for his kind of music.

Additionally, he said that Afrobeat, as popularized by the late Fela Kuti, is a genre and not a music style.

Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, according to Brymo, were thieves who changed the name of Fela’s music genre to Afrobeat by adding the letter S without recognizing how long Fela toiled to develop it.

The musician, 37, thinks that new acts harm genres by rebranding what earlier generations have established rather than maintaining continuity.
