Rukayat Gawat, who hailed from Lagos Island, Okebopo, was the daughter of Alhaji Abdulrazak Aremu Gawat and Morayepe. Her death was announced by Ilorin-based cleric Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh on his official Facebook page.
Rukayat’s beautiful voice and her dedication to her music earned her a special spot in the hearts of her fans across Lagos and the entire southwestern region of Nigeria.
