Popular Nigerian artist Oxlade has come under fire for reportedly displaying phony affection to the late Mohbad after his death.
He started this controversy by sharing a screenshot of a message he sent to Mohbad in 2018 while lamenting his untimely death on social media.
The snapshot, however, showed that he had blocked Mohbad from contacting him on Instagram, suggesting that Mohbad wouldn’t be able to know when he was online or had seen his message.
Additionally, he didn’t reply to the message in which Mohbad had complimented his voice.

Social media users were outraged by this, criticizing Oxlade for blocking Mohbad’s account and attempting to offer hollow support in the wake of his death.
