How to Get Signed to Mavins Record Label, Crayon Spills Secret

Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, is one of the hottest musical acts right out of Mavin Record. He has come out to reveal how to get signed to the record label, as he detailed his personal journey of how Don Jazzy got to notice him, and eventually sign him.

Crayon, the star of the Mavin Collaboration, “Overload,” took the industry once again by storm as he delivered his signature slow-paced verse that carried the entire song and made it stick to the minds of listeners. How did he get into Mavin?

As revealed in an interview, Crayon was a “champion in his hood” as he released seven songs in total that got those around him absorbed into his music.

On one fateful day, as he strolled down the street, Crayon reported that he got a call from his friend informing him that Mavin Records was looking for him.

Surprised by this sudden news, Crayon had a lot of questions in his mind. He noted that no one had found him on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, or any social media platform. So, how did his song possibly reach Mavin Records?

It wasn’t like one of his freestyle videos got viral and everyone took note of him, with some music executives trying to reach him. None of his videos went viral.

Reflecting on the fact that he had no manager, sponsor, or anyone to push his musical career, Crayon said he only produced with Ozedikus and then sent a broadcast message on WhatsApp notifying everyone who cared to listen that his music is out now.

He wasn’t an online person at all. Crayon suspected that his music got to Mavin through a guy called Seun who’s presently a DJ. Seun played Crayon’s song in the Mavin Studio, and the studio had speakers in the ceilings, causing everyone in the building to hear it at the same time.

So, someone in Mavins thought to himself, “Who is the guy?”

The said person sent Crayon a DM urging him to come to the studio. Unaware of the message sitting in his inbox, Crayon had to be called to check his DM, so he logged into his friend’s phone to open his Instagram account so he could access his message.

Crayon called Ozedikus that he was going to Mavin, and obviously, he was too psyched to sleep that night. He eventually entered the studio with his producer, Ozedikus, and Don Jazzy told him that he liked his sound and he could be coming to the studio from time to time, but he made no promises to him.

Crayon won over the heart of the music executive as time unfolded and eventually became a signee of Mavin Records.
