We’ve dug out the atrocities Davido committed that triggered Wizkid’s anger on him, causing the “Essence” crooner to go on a public, insulting rant against Davido.
Wizkid left fans shocked and in surprise when he suddenly decided to go on a rampage against Davido, without any clear reason for his provocation. While this has elicited lots of reactions from celebrities and fans alike, we speculated on its root cause and have come up with our findings.
It turned out that the cause of this current enmity is linked back to Tiwa Savage and the brand deals Wizkid refused to accept.
First, Tiwa Savage
At the start of their career, Wizkid and Davido shared a brotherly bond of friendship with each other, as Davido reportedly gave Wizkid his first private jet experience.
Both of these musical heavyweights not only loved themselves, but they also loved Tiwa Savage.
Wizkid and Tiwa Savage shared romantic chemistry on stage and in music collaborations like “Ma Lo” and “Fever,” so much so that people speculated that they were dating.
Davido and Tiwa Savage had a more platonic, yet tight friendship, as Davido’s daughter “Imade” would frequently be spotted playing publicly with Tiwa Savage’s son, “Jamil.”
Things suddenly got sour in January 2024 when Davido and Tiwa Savage unfollowed each other on Instagram, as Tiwa Savage’s ex-husband, Tee Billz, threatened to teach Davido a lesson for disrespecting his family.
The cause of this breakdown between both stars came to light when Tiwa Savage filed a police report against Davido, accusing him of making a direct threat to her life, privacy, and dignity.

In the petition, Tiwa Savage revealed that she made a post on her Instagram story with Davido’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu. Davido isn’t on talking terms with Sophia Momodu, and he felt like Tiwa Savage’s caption on the post was taunting him, or at the very least, disrespecting him.
So, Davido sent messages to Tiwa Savage’s manager that she should never speak to him again because she taunted him by uttering malicious, derogatory words to his person.
Upon hearing this, Tiwa Savage felt bad considering how she had been there for Davido and his daughter, Imade, and how she was also supportive when Davido lost his son. She responded that Davido shouldn’t also reach out to her.
After this, Tiwa Savage’s phone kept buzzing with calls from their mutual friends as they asked what she did to upset Davido. The “Feel” crooner then sent a threat to Tiwa Savage, stating that she should be careful in Lagos because he was going to f*ck her up.
After receiving this threat, Tiwa Savage quickly filed a police report asking the local authorities to hold Davido responsible if anything should happen to her.
Apparently, Wizkid wasn’t pleased with these threatening messages to his dear friend, Tiwa Savage, as he feels that the billionaire status of Davido’s father empowers him to intimidate others with reckless abandon.

Wizkid’s rejected brand deals
Brands like Puma approached Wizkid to be their brand ambassador. After Wizkid’s deal with Puma was terminated in 2021 because they could no longer afford to pay Wizkid what he demanded, Davido accepted the brand deal for a lesser amount.
In one of his tweets against Davido, someone poked fun at Wizkid over being jealous because Davido got the Puma deal that was originally earmarked for him.
However, Wizkid dismissed his feelings of jealousy, stating that he dropped Puma because they couldn’t afford to pay him, implying that Davido is a cheaper artiste for accepting the deal.
Seeing Davido go behind his back to sign deals he rejected must’ve infuriated Wizkid to no end, coupled with the fact that he also intimidated Tiwa Savage. Here’s the tweet where Wizkid gave his thoughts on Davido accepting brand ambassadorship deals he rejected:
