Why Young John Made the Switch From Being a Producer to a Musician
John Udomboso, popularly known by his stage name of Young John, gave music listeners a pleasant surprise when he began dropping some of the songs he recorded some years back.
Most of the songs he released became instant hits that reverberated throughout music TV stations and radio stations, and he quickly became a fan favorite.

People have always sought to ask him what triggered the transition from producing songs of A-list artistes to becoming an artiste himself. The “Aquafina” crooner dates his decision back to when he lost his mum.
According to him, “What really triggered that was back in 2017 when I lost my mum. I started spending so much time by myself. I was not turning up for my studio sessions or being in the studio with artistes, like I used to. So, I had so much music lying around, because I was recording so much. That period made me to start putting out music, because I never really planned to do that.”
Young John realized that singing seemed to be the right thing to do after the stage of grief, as it probably helped him cope and get over the loss of his mother. The death of his mum saw him wtihdraw into his already introverted shell, as he began spending a greater part of his time being alone in the studio.
Recalling his time in that dark period correctly, the producer turned musician revealed that his refusal to show up for the studio sessions of other artistes eventually led him to stop producing for them.
Consequently, he began exploring his musical side by recording some songs which he only began to put out recently. Now, he’s gotten out of that dark mood of mourning and is in a better place.
Speaking on his current state, Young John said, “However, it feels so good and amazing. I feel blessed, regardless of what the outcome is. I never saw this coming, and I did not plan for it. I am releasing my debut album now, and it feels so surreal. The love has been crazy, since I started putting out music. A lot has happened in my life, and I feel so blessed, regardless of what anyone thinks.”
