Obaseki’s Ex-Aide Said GOD Deliberately Punished Obaseki By Letting Okpebholo Win the Edo Governorship Election

The former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Obaseki, Solomon Okoduwa, applauded the winner of the just concluded Edo gubernatorial elections, Monday Okpebholo. Okoduwa used the opportunity to lash out at his former boss saying that GOD used Okpebholo’s win to punish him.

The Edo governorship election was held on September 21, 2024, and it was an emotional rollercoaster for the two major parties because the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, supported his PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, while the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, threw his weight behind his APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo.

On the day of the election, newsmen reported that Asue Ighodalo was kept waiting in his ward due to the late arrival of voting materials, while Senator Monday Okpebholo already cast his vote in a seamless electoral process in his voting jurisdiction.

This stirred an air of suspicion among voting bystanders on that day as the governorship aspirant lamented over the delayed voting process. You can read all about it here:

Results of the election were eventually declared, and it was discovered that Asue Ighodalo polled 247, 274 votes, Monday Okpebholo aggregated a total of 291, 667 votes, and Olumide Akpata of the Labor Party was left with a measly 22, 763, coming third place.

Caught up in the excitement of his former boss’ candidate losing the election to the opposition party, Solomon Okoduwa bluntly declared that Okpebholo’s win is the direct result of GOD’s punishment to the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki.

See what he wrote below:

“Okpebholo from his background is God-sent. The way he addressed issues and relates to people you will never see arrogance in him.

That is why the entire returnees protested against him and voted Okpebholo.

Almighty God deliberately wanted to punish Obaseki by giving him defeat because of his wickedness to returnees and other indigenes of Edo State.

The factors that led to his defeat were his wickedness and high-handedness, unforgiving spirit and vendetta.”
