Miss Kwara Calls-Out Organisers of GTCO Fashion Week For Plus-Sized Model’s Inclusion

A TikTok video has been going viral on social media. The reigning Miss Kwara Ufa Dania, a plus-sized model, has boldly called out the organizers of the GTCO fashion week for their intentional exclusion of plus-sized models.

Her stunning victory as Miss Kwara, despite jest and scorns, was inspiring, as she claimed her fat size was playing a role in her not being selected for the prestigious fashion exhibition.

Her outburst in the viral video about her frustration over the fashion industry’s shallow beauty standards where only regular-sized models get the spotlight.

Her claim led to critics on all social media trolling her for attempting to manipulate sentiments to gain a spot in the exhibition, calling her out for gaslighting the organizers. However, very few stood beside her, supporting her claim for the inclusivity of plus-sized models in fashion.

The GTCO fashion week sponsored by GTBank, MAC Cosmetics, and Global Industrial Leaders does not directly select models but works with designer’s preferences.
The boldness in her message resonates with some who feel fashion shows should also feature models who don’t fit into conventional beauty norms.

As the fashion world is evolving, there’s a need to embrace diverse forms of beauty as Ufa Dania TikTok’s video shows us why fashion reflects all body types. While the organizers of the fashion exhibit recognize that beauty comes in all sizes, it’s left for them to decide if Miss Kwara will be included on the runway or not.
