The suspected killer, Adeleye Ayomide, has been in the news for the brutal murder of Christiannah Idowu. Surprisingly, before killing and burying Christiannah in his own house, a new story is making the rounds that the suspect also killed his biological sister and ex-girlfriend in the same way.
The cover of Adeleye Ayomide began to blow open on the 19th of August, 2024, when Christiannah Idowu was declared missing. Christiannah is a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
She was reportedly abducted on her way to the University of Lagos where she did her Industrial Training (IT).
Meanwhile, Adeleye Ayomide, who was the mastermind behind her kidnap, is a 200-level student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU).
Christiannah’s parents searched for her frantically using the local authorities, until they received a message sent from Christiannah’s Whatsapp contact. The message arrived by 8:49 PM, followed by a series of Whatsapp “view once” photos that showed their daughter blindfolded and bound in a heartbreaking state of captivity.
Feeling that the messages had passed their desired intent to Christiannah’s parents, which was to strike fear and terror into their hearts so they would be more pliable in fulfilling their demands, the abductors requested a whopping ransom of 1.5 million naira.
The parents of the abducted girl immediately set out to raise the money, but all they could come up with was 350,000 naira. Reasoning that half-bread is better than none, Adeleye directed the parents to send the money to a bet account through a bank deposit channel.
Upon receiving the sum of 350,000 naira on August 22nd, Adeleye demanded that the bank statement of the sender be forwarded to his email. The family did exactly as instructed the very next day, August 23rd.
And then the most traumatic thing happened.
Adeleye Ayomide stopped communicating with Christiannah’s parents. He neither updated them on the welfare of their daughter nor responded to their persistent messages. The hearts of the elderly parents sank into despair at this worrisome development.
A day prior on August 22nd, some amount of the 350,000 naira was sent to the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) account of Christiannah Idowu, and then withdrawn to a Wema bank account belonging to the suspected killer.

Seeing how the abductor ceased all communications with the girl’s parents, intelligence operatives swung into action and confirmed that the Bank Verification Number (BVN) linked to the masked betting account actually belonged to the person who owned the Wema Bank account.
A deeper investigation revealed that Adeleye Ayomide was able to withdraw the sum of 100,000 Naira from the betting account just in time before the betting company locked the account.
With these data at their disposal, operatives then narrowed their focus on Adeleye Ayomide, whom they observed to have a mutual relationship with Christiannah Idowu. They were perplexed when they discovered that they both commented on each other’s Instagram posts.
The security agents also made a random discovery, when they saw that the same account number used to launder some money from Christiannah’s account had previously been posted on Twitter begging for a free giveaway money.
Security operatives then shifted their gaze towards the suspect’s phone, tracking down his cell phone activities and text messages. The tracking of the phone led them to the parents of Adeleye Ayomide’s house in Ikorodu.
After conducting stealthy surveillance and confirming that the suspect was truly in the building from the mobile device tracker, an elite personnel team of the Nigerian army skillfully swooped in on Adeleye to facilitate his arrest.
The operatives found terribly incriminating evidence on him, like Christiannah’s blue phone which was of the model, ITEL A56, along with her exact IMEI number.
Swiftly confiscating Adeleye’s phone, details of the ransom received and information showing he owned the betting account were discovered, as it was registered with his phone number.
Logging into his social media and email apps, the security agents found an interaction between his personal email address and the pseudo email address that has been communicating with Christiannah’s parents.
Reviewing all the evidence and information they’ve gathered so far, it was a no-brainer that they immediately whisked Adeleye Ayomide into custody to carry out further investigations.

On September 3, 2024, Adeleye Ayomide finally confessed to Christiannah’s father and the military men that he killed the girl and buried her in his house. That was a shocker to everyone present.
As if that wasn’t abominable enough, a new story now circulates that Adeleye Ayomide also took the life of his ex-girlfriend in 2018, by killing and burying her in her house.
Adeleye has a knack for snuffing life out of his victims and depositing their remains 6 feet under his apartment, because he also repeated the same fate to his biological sister in 2020, just before adding Christiannah Idowu to his list of victims in 2024.
Many Nigerians have reacted to this horrific news. Popular musician, Ayra Starr, also lent her voice to seeking justice for Christiannah. See what she wrote about it below:
Stop killing us ! Stop raping us ! Women deserve better #JusticeForChristianah
