Previously, Mr Ibu had made a public appeal for assistance as he battled an illness that could potentially result in the loss of his limb. In a video posted on his Instagram page, the veteran disclosed that he had been hospitalized for several weeks. Mr Ibu revealed in the distressing video that doctors had informed him that amputation may be necessary if all other options were exhausted. He made his account number public, requesting for prayers and financial aid.
His daughter, Jasmine Okafor, provided further details, stating that the veteran’s condition had not improved and that they had depleted all of their financial resources, hence the public appeal. She appealed to anyone who could assist in getting him to a better medical facility in another country.
