It has been said all over social media that any artiste Olamide couldn’t “blow” in YBNL Nation cannot “explode” even if they stand on a bomb. It’s true because YBNL Nation is one of the record labels that has produced the most explosive hitmakers in Nigeria. However, Olamide couldn’t replicate his results with these three artistes no matter the effort he put in.
For some reason, it seemed that YBNL musicians like Lil Kesh who blew up with “Shoki,” Adekunle Gold who dominated the airwaves with “Sade,” Fireboy, and now Asake got more attention from Olamide than these artistes who couldn’t get a solid hit track to their name, even when under YBNL records.
3 Artistes Olamide Couldn’t “Blow” In YBNL Nation No Matter How Hard He Tried
At a point, people began accusing Olamide of neglecting these musical acts because any artiste Olamide focused on ended up becoming a household name, with hits upon hits. Let’s take a look at these unfortunate YBNL graduates.
Temmie Ovwasa
Touted as YBNL’s Princess during her unveiling, Temmie Ovwasa actually started off with a good single titled “Bamidele” that sounded alluring to the ears.
Along the line, however, fans no longer heard from her, which caused her to quickly fizzle out of the fiercely competitive music scene. Embittered by her ruined career, Temmie came out to accuse Olamide of abandoning her music projects for five years by keeping her, his wife, and kids in a house in the name of being “one big family.”
By the way, Temmie noted that Olamide’s wife talked to her like trash in front of her friends, and now she was done. Accusing the YBNL boss of wrecking her mental health, the embittered Temmie Ovwasa has fully turned into a queer lesbian, morphing from the sweet girl we all know into an incomprehensible, dark spiritual figure.

Viktoh
Viktoh is an Edo-bred musician who started out with Olamide way before Olamide founded YBNL nation. Originally pals, Viktoh is credited with introducing Lil Kesh to Olamide.
In the years that followed, Lil Kesh went on to have multiple hit singles and successful albums while Viktoh was yet to snag a successful record to his name. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t come up with any song that would resonate with Nigerians at a gut level.
Eventually, Viktoh created a dope single, “Skibi Dat,” which made some waves at the time. However, the song died a natural death as Olamide didn’t seem to give Viktoh the required push and attention he gave other YBNL artistes like Adekunle Gold and Lil Kesh.
Viktoh got frustrated out of YBNL nation after his two-year contract expired, and he now combines farming with making music as an independent artiste.
Lyta
Lyta is a decent Afrobeat musician who signed with YBNL, and he trended in 2018 with hit songs like “Self Made” and “Time.” In the following year, YBNL had to focus on pushing another artiste as Lyta got the spotlight in the previous year.
Seems Lyta wasn’t cool with being relegated to the background for some time as it was the turn of Fireboy to get sponsorships and promotions for his songs.
All of a sudden, Lyta approached Olamide saying that his father had a friend who wanted to sign him, so he would like to leave the YBNL record label. Olamide simply responded with “Okay,” and wished him well.
After leaving the record label, fans didn’t hear from Lyta anymore as it seemed the signing deal with this unknown benefactor fell apart. He has since come crawling back to Olamide, and like a benevolent boss, Olamide took him back but isn’t giving him a music contract anytime soon.
Olamide currently wants only Fireboy and Asake to have a musical contract with YBNL Nation, as he doesn’t trust Lyta’s impulsive whims, seeing that they could be bad for business.
